Another superb productReview by Phil Edmonds
This is C.W. watch number 5 for me, and not disappointed with any! I already own the Makaira Pro 500, which is identical in many ways to the Elite but I simply had to have a watch that was a certified chronometer! I guess that when we make a luxury purchase it's nice that the item makes a statement (or at least us men do) and this watch certainly does that, though with a classic subtlety. The case is precisely engineered, and stands out compared to other brands. The crystal is of such good quality that you can hardly tell that it's there. The matte dial, and contrasting sword hands look absolutely stunning. The second hand glides around the dial, driven by the smooth and accurate Swiss Sellita movement. As a collector I have no doubt that this watch would cost several thousand pounds if it had Omega or Bell&Ross etc. printed on the dial, yet it is of the same quality as any watch out there.
However, the most important aspect of all my purchases with Christopher Ward is the renowned customer services. Christopher Ward genuinely care about their customers satisfaction, and will do everything in their power to ensure that we are totally happy with every aspect of our purchase, for example, I prefer a leather strap on my C11's. I just telephoned to request a change of strap, and this was done....no problem at all.
To make this a balanced review I think that it would be fair to mention any negatives from my own point of view, or perhaps 'preferences' is a better word. I wish that C.W. gave you the option of having the number 12 on the dial as opposed to the 0 at twelve o'clock. I understand that the reason for the zero, but I personally think the 12 looks better, as on some of the other C11's. The zero does not detract from the stunning look of the watch, but my choice would have been a 12 on the Elite.
For those who are reading this, and not sure about buying quality watches you can be absolutely assured that Chris Ward watches can be compared to the best in the world, but at a fraction of the price. Prices appear to be kept down through direct internet selling, therefore saving us having to pay for expensive retail premises, and wages for salesmen in pin-striped suits.
Anther important point is that I consider my C.W. watches as investments. These watches are not mass produced, and not huge quantities of any particular models are produced, so therefore in my opinion the value of many of these models will not decrease, in fact I expect that in years to come my C11 Elite will increase in value.
If you're in the market for a high quality watch, at a very reasonable price, with solid after-sales service a Christopher ward watch is the watch for you.
Just SublimeReview by Riverdancer
Absolutely stunning watch, which in my opnion signifies Chr. Wards ethos. Albeit, this watch is quite chunky, it's extremely comfortable to wear.
I originally came across Chr. Ward brand by chance, while surfing the net. However, I decided to take leap of faith and buy a Chr. Ward watch for my wife, on her birthday. I was so impressed, that I decided to take the plunge myself. Well done Chr. Ward. Keep the good work up!
Sooooo....acurate!Review by steve
- Fantastic watch, great weight, solid feel and look. Very acurate movement...this is my first mechanical watch and after nearly two months I have still not had to alter it, being within 30 seconds of an atomic clock that it was set against! I use a CW watch winder when it's not on my wrist, when wearing my quartz CW.
